Defeating Coco Gauff, Caroline Garcia Advances to Miami Open Quarterfinals – 2024-03-26 05:00:23

French tennis player Caroline Garcia successfully caused a surprise by beating world number three Coco Gauff 6-3, 1-6 and 6-2 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Miami Open, Tuesday (26/3) WIB.

Garcia, who beat four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka in straight sets, Monday (25/3) WIB, continued her good performance by beating Gauff in 1 hour and 43 minutes.

In the quarter-finals of the Miami Open, Garcia, who is ranked 27th in the world, will face the winner of the match between Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea and American tennis player Danielle Collins.

The win over Gauff was Garcia’s first win over a player ranked in the top three in the world since the end of 2022.

Meanwhile, fourth seed Elena Rybakina advanced to the quarter-finals following beating Madison Keys 6-3, 7-5.

In the Miami Open quarter-finals, Rybakina will face Greek tennis player Maria Sakkari.

Sakarri advanced to the quarter-finals following winning by WO over Anna Kaliskaya, who withdrew due to a right thigh injury.

Victoria Azarenka also advanced to the quarter-finals of the Miami Open following winning 7-5, 6-1 over Britain’s Katie Boulter.
