Dell is expanding its monitor portfolio this Friday (03) with the launch of the UltraSharp U2724D and U2724DE, which stand out for bringing the advantageous IPS Black technology combined with 120 Hz refresh ratebeing the first models in the line to feature a high contrast panel at high frequencies.
Previous models were limited to 60 Hz, and now, with support for up to 120 Hz, these screens may be more attractive to gamers and content creators. Both models have several similarities, including a 27-inch screen with Quad HD (1440p) resolution — lower than other versions that boast up to 6K.
The new monitors achieve a contrast ratio of 2,000:1, which is higher than conventional IPS panel models. Additionally, the brightness level is 350 nits, so its readability may be compromised in brightly lit environments. Both support display of over 1 billion colors, covering 98% of the DCI-P3 gamut.
There are built-in features that help preserve users’ eye health, such as reducing blue light emission and brightness fluctuations. Ensuring more productivity in multitasking, the models feature PbP (Picture-by-Picture) and PiP (Picture-by-Picture) technologies.

The key difference between the monitors is the connectivity interface. The UltraSharp U2724D has a DisplayPort 1.4 input, a DisplayPort output, an HDMI input, an audio output, a USB-C port with 15W power output, and a hub with one USB-C and three USB-A ports. The UltraSharp U2724DE, in turn, has Thunderbolt 3.
With this more advanced port, the UltraSharp U2724DE offers additional features, such as DisplayPort Alt mode. The model also has an Ethernet input and KVM function.
Price and availability
The Dell UltraSharp U2724D and U2724DE will officially begin sales on November 9th. The manufacturer states that the models will be sold with suggested prices of US$479 and US$649 (around R$2,340 and R$3,175), respectively. At the moment, there is no forecast for the launch of the monitors in Brazil.
