Delta Air Lines is bringing a taste of the French capital directly to Central Texas. Starting March 27, 2027, the carrier will operate daily summer-season service between Austin (AUS) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDG), marking a major aviation milestone for the region according to local officials and company announcements.
Bridging Austin and the French Capital
The new trans-Atlantic route will run through the summer season until Oct. 24, 2027. Austin Mayor Kirk Watson emphasized the cultural synergy of the new connection. “Austin and Paris are united by a spirit of culture, creativity, and discovery, and this new route will bring our communities closer together while creating new opportunities for people to experience all that makes our city special,” Mayor Watson said in a statement reported by KUT.
For travelers looking beyond France, Delta notes that its close partnerships with Air France and KLM will allow seamless connections through Paris. Passengers can tap into nearly 70 nonstop destinations across Europe, India, and Africa, including major hubs like Barcelona, Mumbai, and Casablanca, as reported by KUT.
The Aircraft and Onboard Experience
Delta plans to deploy its Airbus A330-900neo on the Austin-to-Paris route. Premium travelers booking the highest-tier seats will find accommodations that can lie flat, paired with premium bedding and small privacy doors, according to KUT.
The Paris connection adds to a growing roster of European nonstop flights operating out of Austin, which currently includes Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and London. This addition complements Delta’s broader push into the Texas market, having overtaken American Airlines earlier this year to become Austin’s second-largest carrier behind Southwest.

Securing a direct flight to Paris has long been a top priority for Austin airport officials. ABIA executive Jamy Kazanoff previously hinted at ongoing discussions with airport commissioners, pointing to a strong underlying business case, as noted by KUT. The city of Austin actively encourages international routes by dangling financial incentives, including 24 months of waived landing fees and up to $500,000 in marketing support over two years for airlines flying twice-weekly nonstop service to designated international priority destinations like Paris.
Opportunity Austin, an economic development organization supported by local businesses and the University of Texas, is stepping up to help cover the marketing costs associated with the new Paris flight, according to KUT. Local business leaders believe that direct European connectivity will attract additional corporate travel, foreign investment, and companies to the region.
Future Growth at Austin-Bergstrom
The upcoming Paris service highlights a broader commitment by Delta to scale up its presence in Central Texas. By the summer of 2027, Delta projects it will serve approximately 30 destinations from Austin, managing more than 70 departures on peak days.
