The Justice and Development Party called for the opening of an investigation into the anonymous and distorted leaks of the Family Code being circulated with contents contradictory to Islamic identity, constitutional constants, the royal framework, and popular trends, which threaten the cohesion and stability of the family and society.
A statement issued by the party’s General Secretariat following its meeting yesterday, Saturday, explained, “The responsibility requires opening an investigation into the matter to block the way for those seeking to sow discord and manipulators in a serious and major issue.”
He warned against thinking that these leaks were included in the proposals of the body charged with proposing to review the Family Code, reiterating his call to open an investigation into this matter, which he described as “dangerous.”
He stated that an investigation had previously been opened at less than this time when Al-Baijidi was prime minister, given the seriousness of such leaks, whether in terms of their lack of respect for state institutions, most notably the status and position of His Majesty the King, Commander of the Faithful, or in terms of their subject matter and the strife and confusion they could raise among the public. All citizens.
He explained that the leaks being circulated regarding the review of the Family Code “concern contents, most of which are derived from a memorandum submitted by one party.”
He said that he refrained from speaking on the matter after it was submitted to the high consideration of His Majesty the King and the file entered a new stage, and he denounced the fact that these leaks at this particular time do not seem to respect the high status of the Commander of the Faithful, which should not be touched, nor does he appreciate the seriousness of such leaks.
