The head of the Moroccan Association for the Protection of Public Money, Mohamed Al-Glousi, called on political parties to freeze the membership of all their members accused of corruption crimes and not to nominate them for any public responsibility whatsoever or assign them to represent Parliament in any activity.

Al-Ghallusi said, “It is no secret to the nation’s representatives that reports have stopped regarding the exacerbation of corruption and bribery in Morocco, which constitutes a real threat to social peace and security,” adding, “Therefore, Moroccans are looking forward to a real political will to break with corruption and the plundering of public money and rents, and to link responsibility to accountability.” They hope that the battle against corruption will continue by prosecuting the thieves of public money and corruptors and moving the measures of money laundering against them.”

Al-Ghalousi considered in a Facebook post that “this reality forces political parties to recognize before it is too late the severity of the stage, its difficulties, and the danger of corruption on the state and society, and to begin by freezing the membership of all those accused of corruption crimes and not nominating them for any public responsibility whatsoever or assigning them to represent Parliament in Any activity,” calling on Parliament to take “an effective decision to stop the payment of their wages and compensation, and it must also return the public support funds that are the subject of the report of the Supreme Council of Accounts to the state treasury.”

The same spokesman explained that political parties “are required to hold their conferences, renew their structures, and provide the opportunity for new competencies and energies to assume responsibility away from family loyalties and logic.”

It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives will hold, on Friday, April 12, a general session dedicated to the opening of the second session of the legislative year 2023-2024, and the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives for the remainder of the parliamentary period.
