Demi Vollering won the Flèche Wallonne at the end of a controlled race where she showed that she was the strongest, notably achieving a very big last climb of the Mur de Huy. Liane Lippert takes second place, ahead of Gaia Realini.
A group of six riders took the lead at the start of the race but were caught back 43km from the finish with two more climbs of the Mur de Huy.
van Vleuten puts a big tempo in the second ascent and a group of 4 breaks away with Moolman, Unknown et Longo Borghini.
Reusser does the job for SD Worx to bring the band back behind but it’s ultimately full ring who made a big effort to come back about thirty kilometers from the finish.
A new running movement is created at the junction between the two groups. Spratt goes out alone. A group of three, consisting of Ghekiere, Bauernfeid et Magnaldiis in pursuit of the Australian and a group of about twenty runners is a little further.

Demi Vollering did not crack and won the Flèche Wallonne, after winning on the Amstel a few days earlier, ahead of Liane Lippert et Gaia Realini.
