Increased cases of dengue fever in Hadramout until June 9
Government health reports revealed in Hadramoutsoutheastern Yemen, reported an escalating increase in the number of cases of dengue fever among people in various districts and remote villages.
According to reports issued by the Epidemiological Surveillance Department at the Office of the Ministry of Public Health in Seiyun, more than 1,674 cases of dengue fever were recorded during the period until June 9. The infected cases were concentrated in the city of Seiyun, in its main neighborhoods.

The statistic indicated that the Al-Qarn neighborhood recorded the highest rate with 237 cases, followed by the “Trace” region with 216 cases, and then the Al-Ghurfa region with 214 cases, and the Al-Suhail neighborhood came in the fourth place with 169 cases, and then the Tarba region with 168 cases, and then the “Madoudeh” region with 150 cases of injury, and the Maramra neighborhood. With 124 cases and the regions of Al-Wahda neighborhood, Al-Houta, Shihuh, Al-Thawra, Bur, Al-Souk Al-Am, 22 May, Salila and Al-Qurain, with less than a hundred cases for each region and one of them.
According to health sources at Seiyun General Hospital, recent rainfall in the areas of Wadi Seiyun has led to the proliferation of mosquitoes, the main carrier of dengue fever, indicating that the escalation of infected cases was concentrated in the city of Seiyun, the center of Wadi and Hadramout desert, as well as neighboring towns and villages.
