Manchester United’s Danes Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund were both in action on Sunday evening, when Denmark beat Finland 1-0 in Euro 2024 qualifying thanks to a late goal from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
Our number 14 played the full 90 minutes in Helsinki, while his teammate Hojlund came on at the start of the second half.
Eriksen came close to opening the scoring 19 minutes into the match at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, his rough free-kick being well saved by Finnish goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky.
Playing in a typically creative number 10 role for Kasper Hjulmand’s team, the Red and Whites saw a lot of the ball but had to be patient throughout the match.

The result allows Denmark to overtake Finland at the top of the table, with two wins from two in September international matches, following Thursday’s 4-0 victory over San Marino.
Defender Jonny Evans captained his country in Kazakhstan, where Northern Ireland lost 1-0 in Astana.
Like Eriksen, Evans played the full 90 minutes, with the match decided by a first-half goal from Maksim Samorodov.
The result follows the Green and White Army’s 4-2 defeat to Slovenia on Thursday, leaving them fifth in Group H after six matches.
All three players are now set to return to Carrington later in the week, with attention quickly turning to the next Premier League match against Brighton at Old Trafford on Saturday (3:00 p.m. BST).
