Dentist’s day, how important is oral health and its care?

The work of dental professionals is celebrated every October 3 in countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, CubaEcuador, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela because, on a day like today but in 1917, the FOLA (Latin American Odontological Federation) was formed in Santiago de Chile.

Almost a decade later, in 1925, Dr. Raúl Loustalán, who represented Argentina at the second congress of FOLA, he proposed to make this day official to celebrate Latin American dentistry.

Their work has an integrating vision, that is, they take into account biological, psychological and social factors, with the aim of conserving and/or rehabilitating the stomatognathic system.
