Jeddah: The Saudi Passport (Jawasat) Directorate has mandated that the sons of 25-year-olds who are in Saudi Arabia on a dependent visa of their mother or father must transfer their sponsorship to the name of the institutions. Those over 21 years of age on a dependent visa must present documents proving that they are students when renewing their iqama. Dependent visa can be continued only if students are over 21 years of age.

After the age of 25, you can stay in the country only on a work visa. That is why Javasat explained that among the males staying in Saudi Arabia on a family visa as a dependent of a foreigner, those who have reached the age of 21 must present their education documents to renew the iqama, and those who have reached the age of 25 must change their sponsorship to the name of the employment organization. If women, they can continue on dependent visa. But in order to renew the iqama, you have to present a document proving that you are not married. If you are married, you will have to switch to the sponsorship of your husband. The directorate also clarified that the beneficiary must be in Saudi Arabia to complete the change of sponsorship.
