Deputies approve investigative commission on the La Polar case: “The free chipe is over” | National

The Chamber of Deputies and Deputies approved the formation of an investigative commission on the case of La Polar, who is accused of marketing counterfeit or second-hand garments.

The room of the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies supported the request of 68 legislators, headed by Daniel Manouchehri (PS), to create a new investigative commission for the La Polar case.

Its objective will be to investigate, in its field of competence, what refers to the complaints against the multi-store.

In particular, the acts of the Government related to the operations of the aforementioned Chilean retail company will be investigated. In particular, it points to the eventual smuggling and sale of counterfeit products in our country.

The commission must submit its report within a period not exceeding ninety days. In addition, for the performance of its mandate it may be established anywhere in the national territory.

It should be remembered that the interest of the deputies in this issue already had its precedent in the Economy Commission. The head of Sernac, Andrés Herrera, attended there to recount the edges of the case. Similarly, Herrera provided information on the data that supported the filing of a class action lawsuit against the company.

Faced with this, Deputy Manouchehri said that “This will be an instance so that all these facts can be made transparent and can be investigated.which in the public light without a doubt, constitute a scandal that hits millions of consumers”.

It is worth mentioning that the polar announced yesterday the launch of a campaign with which it seeks to defend the originality of its products, within the framework of accusations and complaints that indicate that it marketed various counterfeit brands; or second selection without indicating that condition.

In this line, the deputy Daniel Melo said that with this it was possible to verify “how La Polar, for example, has a whole policy to be able to launder its public image in relation to the products it sells. Today the signal is clear, we are going to advance in this investigative commission, because we are on the side of the rights of the consumers of our country”.

Meanwhile, his bench peer, Leonardo Soto, emphasized that “The free chipe for La Polar is over”adding that “next week the benches are going to designate all the members -13 deputies and deputies- who are going to have to thoroughly monitor this issue.”
