In a special session that addressed various economic and social proposals, the Chamber of Deputies approved the creation of the national universities of Cuenca del Salado and Saladillo, in the province of Buenos Aires, and the Juan Laurentino Ortiz University, in the province of Entre Ríos. The bills were sent to the Senate for consideration.
The creation of the University of the Salado Basinwhich will be in Cañuelas, received the approval of the legislative plenary session with 152 votes in favor and 82 against. This project was promoted by the deputy of the Frente de Todos (FdT), María Rosa Martínez.
The creation of the National University of Saladillopresented by the deputy of Evolución Radical, Emiliano Yacobitti, was approved with 128 votes in favor, 90 against and 12 abstentions.
Subsequently, Deputies gave the green light to the creation of the Juan Laurentino Ortiz National University, with headquarters in Paraná, Entre Ríos. The initiative, promoted by the president of the Education Commission, Blanca Osuna (FdT), obtained 158 votes in favor, 72 against and one abstention.
