Desigual x Ottolinger: A Bold New Avant-Garde Collaboration

Iberian fashion brand Desigual announced a capsule collection in collaboration with Berlin-based label Ottolinger, founded by Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient. Set for release on September 3, 2026, the line revisits Desigual’s historical archives through Ottolinger’s signature underground, avant-garde aesthetic with hand-crafted pieces made in Barcelona.

Deconstructing the Desigual Archive

The collaboration brings together two radically opposed design philosophies. Desigual contributes its historically vibrant Mediterranean color palette, exuberant prints, and recognizable vestiary. Meanwhile, Ottolinger injects its signature deconstructed silhouettes, asymmetrical cuts, and raw, unfinished textures.

The collection features hand-crafted items including deconstructed bags, vibrant tops, and raw-edged garments. Confirmed items include the “Bossa Denim Mitjana” handbag priced at 79,95 € and the “Bossa Brillant Trenada Gran” handbag priced at 89,95 €.

Strategic Re-positioning Through Design Partnerships

This upcoming drop marks the latest milestone in Desigual’s broader corporate and aesthetic overhaul. Since 2019, the Iberian fashion house has worked to modernize its brand identity, product lineup, and public image to attract younger consumer demographics. Strategic creative partnerships have served as a core driver of this turnaround.

Prior to partnering with Ottolinger, Desigual collaborated with a string of contemporary avant-garde designers. Masha Popova, Botter, and Egonlab have all previously lent their distinct visions to the brand, injecting high-fashion credibility into its catalog without abandoning its foundational heritage.

The Evolution of Ottolinger’s Collaborations

For Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient, diving into the Desigual archives represents a natural progression of their design ethos. Long before the official partnership materialised, the Swiss duo actively collected vintage Desigual pieces from second-hand platforms, routinely incorporating and repurposing them into their own personal design silhouettes.

Since launching their label in 2015, Bösch and Gadient have established themselves as masters of reinterpretation. Their experimental portfolio includes major projects with Puma across 2024 and 2025, alongside a heritage-focused collection developed alongside Swiss telecommunications provider Swisscom. Their boundary-pushing garments have steadily gained traction among high-profile cultural figures, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Bad Bunny.

Availability and Rollout

The Desigual x Ottolinger capsule collection will officially launch on Thursday, September 3, 2026. Consumers can purchase the items directly through the official Desigual e-commerce platform and via a curated selection of physical Desigual retail boutiques.
