Lieutenant Colonel Richard Mazzone of the State Police Uniform Force said: “After an exhaustive search of the park, we made the decision to issue the Amber Alert because, after the intensive search, we were unable to locate her, which led us to the possibility of a kidnapping.”

The alert issued by the US authorities.

When she disappeared, Charlotte was wearing a tie-dyed orange Pokémon t-shirt, dark blue pants, black Crocs and a gray bicycle helmet, according to the description provided by state police.

“This is a critical moment. “Statistics tell us that in potential kidnappings, the first 24 to 48 hours are crucial,” said John Miller, CNN’s chief intelligence and law enforcement analyst, in an interview with CNN This Morning.

Charlotte’s family is urging the public to come forward with any information that may help locate her. Jené Sena, Charlotte’s aunt, told CNN affiliate WCBS, “No lead is insignificant. She is an adorable, blonde, 9-year-old girl with bangs. She has green eyes, is just under 5 feet tall and is just a sweet, adorable little girl.”

Charlotte was last seen around 6:15 pm on Saturday, riding her bike on one of the park’s loops. The bicycle was found on the circuit without the girl, prompting her mother to report her missing around 6:45 p.m., according to Mazzone.

Charlotte, who was camping at Moreau Lake State Park with her family, went for a bike ride with close friends during dinnertime and never returned, authorities said.

“Once they found his bike during that search, they realized he wasn’t on it, that he hadn’t gone very far, that he hadn’t gotten lost. “Something is really wrong,” Miller said.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul reported that more than 100 people, including underwater and aviation rescue teams, bloodhounds, drones and technology experts, are participating in the search. Hochul called for citizen collaboration: “We will leave no stone, branch, table or cabin unturned, untouched, unexamined in our search for Charlotte. If she knows something, if she has seen something, if she hears something, contact 911 to tell us what she knows.”

Moreau Lake State Park, located about 45 miles north of Albany, will remain closed until further notice, according to a Facebook post from the park.
