The animated film Despicable Me 4 topped the North American Box Office in its first week in theaters.
The fourth film in the Minions universe, which features Will Ferrell as the new acting voice actor, has successfully earned US$75 million in ticket sales in the United States (US) and Canada since its release on Friday (5/7) local time.
“This is a remarkable achievement for the fourth film in the animated series, second only to Toy Story 4,” said Box Office observer David A Gross.
The second position, with US$30 million, was taken by Inside Out 2. The Disney and Pixar production film was displaced following remaining at the top of the Box Office for the previous three weeks.

Horror film A Quiet Place: Day One came in third following grossing US$21 million.
Another horror film MaXXXine regarding a mysterious killer who wants to kill an actress came in fourth with $6.7 million.
Fifth place went to Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The film, which once once more stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, earned US$6.5 million. (time/Z-1)
