Harrison Ford bids farewell to one of his most famous roles when his new movie (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny) hits theaters on Friday.

Ford, 80, plays an archaeologist and adventurer in the blockbuster series, telling Archyde.com that he will not return for more archaeological adventures.

“I’m bidding farewell to an amazing opportunity to cheer people up, but I wanted the latest in this series to focus more on the character than anything else,” Ford said in an interview.

The film opens with a scene of a younger Ford fighting the Nazis to obtain half of the Archimedes disk, a device that enables people to travel through time.

Although Ford praised his youthful appearance in the film, as artificial intelligence helped him achieve this, he ruled out making a full movie in his younger form.

“I can’t imagine that this will happen,” he told Archyde.com.

And he added, “I think there are obstacles to this from a legal point of view and in terms of that it will not work.”

In the rest of the events of Dial of Destiny, Jones, the eldest, searches for the other half of the disk with the help of his spiritual daughter Helena (actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge) and her friend Teddy (actor Ethan Isidore).

Bridge and Isidore found that Ford’s real personality was not very different from his character in the film.

Isidore said he was “making these sexy jokes, just like Indiana Jones”.

And for Ford, the character will always be etched in his heart.
