Despite Nehammer’s distancing: Ex-ÖVP boss Mitterlehner does not rule out blue and black – ÖVP

The former ÖVP boss and former Vice Chancellor Reinhold Mitterlehner, who was “put away” by Sebastian Kurz, fears that his express “non-desired coalition”, namely one between the FPÖ and ÖVP, is not as excluded following the upcoming National Council election as the ÖVP under Karl Nehammer rhetorically stated once more and once more. Mitterlehner doesn’t entirely trust these statements. In the ORF discussion format “Bei Budgen” he explained when asked which coalition variants he thought were most likely: “To be honest, I think these promises and statements ‘not with’ are relatively problematic because the voter simply already has experience. In some federal states it happened differently,” he alluded to Lower Austria and Salzburg, where a coalition was formed with the FPÖ following the election, although this had always been denied before. The following applies: “Before the election is before the election and following the election is following the election. I would definitely not rule anything out because then there might be completely different constellations.”
