Nico Williams recently extended his contract with Athletic Bilbao until 2027.
But there are no guarantees that the speedy winger will remain at the club for that long.
According to previous information, there is a buyout clause of 50 million euros (just under 580 million kroner) written into the agreement. And according to Football Insider, Chelsea are ready to activate it to sign the 21-year-old this summer.
Despite “The Blues” spending over twelve billion on new acquisitions in recent years, the club is said to be keen to upgrade their offensive options, and then Williams should be an option they want in the team.
Williams is noted for 18 goals and 21 assists in 116 competitive matches in the Athletic jersey.
