Alexandria – Mohamed Amer and Mohamed El-Badri:

Abu Qir Specialized Hospital in Toson, Alexandria, witnessed the fall of one of the elevators to about 3 floors, without causing any injuries or loss of life.

The Montazah Police Department received a second report that an elevator fell at the Abu Qir Specialized Hospital, which is affiliated with the General Authority for Health Insurance in Toson area in Alexandria.

The department officers moved to the aforementioned hospital, and the examination revealed that an elevator had fallen for about 3 floors due to the worker allowing more than 10 people on his own at once – according to the communication.

According to an official source in the hospital, the elevator fell about 30 cm from the level of the ground floor after its fall, stressing that the elevator was newly installed and the hospital administration did not officially receive it from the executing company.

The source added that all elevator passengers at the time of the accident were not injured, except for a pregnant nurse working in the hospital, who was placed under observation, to check on her health condition.

The hospital administration, affiliated with the Alexandria Health Insurance Authority, issued an urgent decision to stop the elevator from working, and to form an engineering committee to inspect it early morning, and prepare a report on the causes of the accident and the condition of the elevator.
