Yako, (AIB)-The High Commissioner of Passoré, Issiaka Segda, chaired on Monday July 4, 2022 in Yako, the work of the first ordinary session of the Provincial Consultation Framework of Passoré for the year 2022.

The actors and decision-makers of the province of Passoré met on Monday, July 4, 2022 in Yako to immerse themselves in the various development actions carried out in the locality during the first half of the year 2022.

On the occasion, four essential points were placed on the agenda. This involved the review and adoption of the minutes of the second ordinary session of the provincial consultation framework for the year 2021, the presentation of the national strategy for the development of the “Agroecology” program, of “Solidargro” ( a Belgian project) then the presentation of the project to promote and defend the rights of girls and young girls in the North region.

The Association Monde Rural (AMR), which was there, presented its project, the objective of which is to improve the living conditions of rural populations and their living environment.

The coordinator of the Agroecology project, Souleymane Yougbaré indicated that the project intends, by 2050, to focus on values, namely competitiveness and productivity, the creation of decent green jobs, agro-sylvo-pastoral, fisheries and wildlife production. that can build resilience to climate change.

“Its objectives are to sustainably increase productivity and agro-sylvo-pastoral, fisheries and wildlife production through the adoption of agro-ecological practices,” he added.

The “Solidagro” project is implemented in Passoré by the Association for the Protection of the Environment and Rural Development (APEDR)

Its coordinator Téné Odette Béré affirmed that the specific objective of the project is to improve the capacities of 19 rural communities in Burkina Faso by ensuring respect for their right to food security and water.

Ms. Béré indicated that in its implementation, the Belgian project has been developed in order to achieve the expected results by the end of 2021. Results deemed “satisfactory” which she summarized, among other things, by the processing of non-timber forest products, the reduction of carbon emissions and then vegetable production.

“It is moreover, the positive impact garnered by the actions which motivated the financing of the second phase of the said project to cover the period from 2022 to 2026”, added Ms. Béré who specified that 10 other villages will be taken taken into account by this second phase of the programme.

According to the coordinator of the project for the promotion and defense of the rights of girls and young girls in the North region, Souleymane Ouédraogo, the project specifically aims to strengthen the mechanism for the protection and care of girls and young girls. victims of violence, to improve the effectiveness of their rights and to support them in their family and social reintegration.

Mr. Ouédraogo noted that in its implementation, this project intends to organize a series of activities for the benefit of these young girls.

This involves, among other things, organizing training for civil society organizations, customary and religious authorities on the new provisions of the penal code on marriage as well as the care of victims.
