Update (06/12/2024) – YB

After filing an appeal against the preventive measure imposed by the General Superintendence of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (SG-Cade), Apple managed to turn things around: the company managed to suspend the measure that would force the company to make changes that would allow alternative payment methods on the Brazilian App Store.

The suspension was only possible thanks to Federal Court of the Federal District, which considered it “disproportionate” and “unnecessary”. Furthermore, the decision, in addition to forcing the change to other payment methods in applications, also aimed at allowing sideloading on iOS. The information was confirmed by the newspaper Valor Econômico.
