The North German amateur clubs have not yet managed to create a sensation in the DFB Cup: Teutonia Ottensen, Oberneuland and Bersenbrück each lost their first round duels clearly. Rostocker FC meets Heidenheim on Sunday.
For a quarter of an hour, Teutonia was defensively stable against Bayer Leverkusen at 0: 8 (0: 3) in front of around 11,000 spectators at Hamburger Millerntor, then a corner kick ensured the lead of the Bundesliga club. Edmond Tapsoba scored with a header (16′). The regional league team did well and received repeated applause, but had to concede two more goals before the break: Victor Boniface (42nd) and Florian Wirtz (45th + 1) completed beautiful Leverkusen moves.

After the restart, Amine Adli with a penalty kick (59th) and Jeremie Frimpong (67th) quickly eliminated any remaining doubts about the outcome of the game. Teutonia’s strength was dwindling. Adam Hlozek with a long-range shot worth seeing (75th), Jonas Hofmann (81st) and again Hlozek (90th) made the final score. Teutonia coach Dominik Glawogger recognized the “great individual quality” of Leverkusen after the final whistle, but also emphasized the initial phase of his team: “We did well in the first 30, 35 minutes. It was 0-3 at break the belief then of course a little gone.”

Nuremberg meets Oberneuland early
FC Oberneuland’s 1:9 (0:6) against Nuremberg started a quarter of an hour late. The decision was made by the DFB and the police because not all the visiting fans were in the stadium yet. When the game was then whistled, the favorite from Franconia only needed 15 minutes to ensure clear conditions: FCN shooting star Can Uzun shone twice as in the 2nd division against Hanover and scored two goals (10th, 14th) , Daichi Hayashi added in the 15th minute.
Ahmet Gürleyen (19th) and Taylan Duman (24th, 29th / penalty kick) before the break as well as Uzun again (67th) and Benjamin Goller (71st) and Christoph Daferner (90th) screwed the result up. Nice for the Bremen Oberliga: Bakary Lambers scored a consolation goal worth seeing in the 89th minute with the meanwhile 1:8.

Mönchengladbach gives Bersenbrück no chance
Already on Friday, Borussia Mönchengladbach showed no weaknesses in front of almost 16,000 spectators at the Bremen Bridge and won the duel with the Lower Saxony fifth division side Bersenbrück 7:0 (4:0). However, the Oberliga team put up a good fight with the first division team and could have caused a bang after just under two minutes. But Saikouba Manneh failed because of Borussia keeper Jonas Omlin.

After that, the game took its usual course. At the break, Franck Honorat, Nathan Ngounou (26′) and twice Tomas Cvancara (32′, 35′) gave Gladbach a 4-0 lead. After the break, Honorat (56′), Robin Hack (78′) and Grant-Leon Ranos (90′) scored the other goals for the favourite.

What is Rostock FC doing?
Oberliga side Rostocker FC, like Bersenbrück and Teutonia Ottensen, also have to deal with a first division side in the first round of the DFB Cup. Bundesliga promoted 1. FC Heidenheim is the RFC opponent on Sunday (1 p.m., in the NDR Livecenter) in Hansa Rostock’s Ostseestadion.
