Dhahi Halfan: Ukraine should be a bridge between Russia and NATO

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Deputy Chief of Dubai Police, Dhahi Khalfan, said that Ukraine should play the role of a “bridge” between Russia and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), on Tuesday, instead of lining up with one of them.

Khalfan said in a tweet on his official page on Twitter: “That Ukraine should not be in a trench with NATO once morest Russia, nor with Russia once morest the West, but rather a bridge between the two parties is better than siding with one party without the other,” he said.

The Emirati security official had written in a previous tweet: “If the Russian forces are 30 kilometers from Kyiv, the distance is within the Russians’ range… Peaceful solutions are the best,” as he put it.

The Russian army invaded Ukraine on February 24, and the Russian forces are heading to the capital, Kyiv, and are tens of kilometers away from it.
