Like many other titles, Diablo IV should attempt to attract players through Twitch. Lots of streams will be organized by content creators, but it looks like Blizzard will also get their hands dirty. by participating in the Drops program ! A paid mount offered via Twitch Drops?
Thanks to a Reddit user, we learn that Blizzard reportedly planning to distribute an exclusive mount via Twitch Drops. The list of partner streamers has not yet been revealed, but we know that the initiative is no longer a rumor. Adam Fletcher from Blizzard has indeed confirmed the information, specifying that there would be other things to recover thanks to the system of drops. If he specifies this, it is because the Primal Instinct mount shouldn’t be accessible just by opening a partner stream.
In a document shared on Reddit, we can read that the viewers will receive this special mount when they have offered two subscriptions during the period of availability, which would go from June 5 to July 2. In other words, this mount will be chargeable. In all likelihood, there will be plenty of streams to go to to get the mount if you want it. In another post, Adam Fletcher responds to a small streamer, stating that:
The requirements (to participate) concerned anyone who had distributed the D2/D3/DI and D4 tests in the last 6 months. So if a small streamer streamed during this time, they were notified (…) via Twitch notifications. If they have opted out of marketing communications, they may not receive the notification. It’s not just targeting big streamers. We will cap at a specific number of total streamers as the program can only allow a limited number due to the backend restriction on Twitch
As for the other drops mentioned by Adam Fletcher, vagueness still reigns. It is unknown what they will contain, or if they will be released alongside or following the Primal Instinct mount. What we do know, however, is that some elements will be offered in a more classic way, i.e. it should be enough to watch a stream partner to hope to obtain the cosmetic element distributed.
