Two dead and injured. This is the result of the explosion of a turbine of the Steel Structure and Services (Sas). A factory installed in Diamniadio. The accident occurred on September 30, 2022/ It preceded by a few days the tragedy in Nébé located in the Diourbel region and which took place on October 4. In Diourbel, it is the explosion of the boiler of a factory which is caused a drama. The accident drags a death toll of seven. Most of the victims succumbed to their injuries.
The Diamniadio explosion came to light with the death of two of the injured admitted to hospital.
The victims who lost their lives are maintenance workers. They are each 32 years old. Ousseynou Ciss and Abdou Lahad Diongue died one day apart, on October 7 and 8, 2022.
The turbine explosion resulted from maintenance work. It is the cause of serious burns for maintenance technicians.
An investigation is opened by the Diamniadio territorial brigade to determine the causes of the accident.
