Kylian Mbappé has expressed optimism about his chances of being awarded the Ballon d’Or and sent a clear message.
“Did I deserve the Ballon d’Or? What counts according to the new criteria? Burning the retina, scoring goals and making a difference? I think I meet those criteria. I’d say yes, but it’s the people who vote and I’m always optimistic,” Mbappé told TF1.
“It’s always difficult to talk about an individual award, because you have to put yourself in the spotlight. That’s something that doesn’t necessarily go down well with the general public,” Mbappé continued.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar was crowned French champion this season and took the silver medal with the French national team at the World Cup in Qatar.
The 24-year-old knew how to impress for PSG this year. In 43 games, the forward has 41 goals and 10 assists.
