The deception was cleverly orchestrated and everyone saw nothing but fire, including the employees who really thought they were working in the famous bitten apple stores.
A few years ago, a scandal broke out in China. An American blogger published an article on her site mentioning a fake Apple Store she had visited in the city of Kunming. The information went back to the ears of Apple, which decided to file a complaint against the fake store. The Chinese authorities got involved and launched an investigation.
They will end up discovering 22 fake Apple Stores in the city that looked exactly like the real Apple Stores: decoration, presentation… with counterfeit Apple products. Everything was so identical to the real stores that the employees themselves actually thought they were working for Apple.
