We thought the saga was over for good.
As made official yesterday by Antwerpeverything seemed to indicate that Didier Lamkel Zé was going to sign his contract with Omonoia Nicosia today.
But nothing is less certain now because despite an agreement between Antwerp and the Cypriot club, Lamkel Zé would have changed his mind. The latter would have refused to appear for medical tests, the last step before signing.
Het Nieuwsblad explique que DLZ would have received a last minute offer from… Ferencvaros. The fact that the Hungarian club would have offered a higher salary than Omonoia, and that the Cameroonian would see it as a greater challenge would be the main reasons for his change of management.
The daily finally indicates that Antwerp would have no objection, but Omonoia Nicosia does not intend to stop there.
