Director, screenwriter, People’s Artist of the RSFSR Vitaly Melnikov died at the age of 93. He directed the films Head of Chukotka (1966), Hello and Goodbye (1972), Elder Son (1975), Vacation in September (1979) and others.
“The family fought for him to the last. Vitaly Vyacheslavovich died today, ”the press service of the Lenfilm film studio said. TASS. Mr. Melnikov died in St. Petersburg. The cause of death was not specified.
Vitaly Melnikov in 1952-1953 worked as a director at the Leningrad film studio of popular science films, since 1964 – as a director at the Lenfilm film studio. He directed more than 20 feature films.
