#dif23: DIF anniversary year brings Ottakringer Inselbier to the domestic trade

For the eighth time, the Ottakringer brewery has brewed an island beer especially for the DIF. Mayor Dr. Michael Ludwig took over personally today.

Vienna (OTS/SPW) For 40 years, the Danube Island Festival has stood for respectful cooperation, social cohesion and solidarity. This is proven by the largest open-air festival in Europe with free admission every year when it takes place on the Danube Island. But the Donauinselfest family also upholds these values ​​in the run-up to the event, including through important partnerships with local companies to promote regional value creation. The Ottakringer brewery is one of these loyal companions. This year, for the eighth time, a refreshing island beer was created together, which will be served at the Danube Island Festival. On the occasion of 40 years of the Danube Island Festival under the motto #momentewiedies, the island beer will not only be available at the festival this year, but from May at BILLA and BILLA PLUS in Vienna and the surrounding area.

At today’s presentation and tasting of the island beer in the brewhouse of the Ottakringer brewery, mayor dr Michael Ludwig among other things Tobias Frank, Managing Director Technology & 1st Brewmaster Ottakringer Brewery, Barbara Novak, state party secretary of the SPÖ Viennaand Matthias Friedrich, managing director of the Pro Event Team for Vienna and project manager of the Danube Island Festivalalong with it.

Mayor Dr. Michael Ludwig: The Ottakringer Brewery and the Danube Island Festival stand for regional added value. The largest traditional brewery in Vienna brews with Viennese water and malting barley from local cultivation. The Danube Island Festival is also an important part of Viennese culture and has been inspiring the Viennese for 40 years with free admission. Our partnership with the Ottakringer brewery has become a tradition, shows how togetherness works in Vienna, and has already produced the eighth island beer this year.
