Schneider Electric announces partnership with NVIDIA on AI projects in Digital Twins for data centers

Schneider Electric, a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and sustainability, announces a partnership with NVIDIA to optimize data center infrastructure and drive innovative advancements in edge artificial intelligence (AI) and digital twin technologies. The goal is to introduce the first publicly available AI data center reference designs, representing a significant milestone in the evolution of the industry.

The goal is to optimize data center infrastructure and promote innovative advances in artificial intelligence at the edge and digital twin technologies

With AI applications gaining prominence in various industries and demanding more computing resources, the need for processing power has increased exponentially. This has driven remarkable transformations in the design and operation of data centers, with operators racing to build energy-stable, efficient and scalable facilities.

In the first phase of this collaboration, Schneider Electric has implemented data center reference designs adapted for NVIDIA accelerated computing clusters that will be built for data processing, engineering simulation, electronic design automation, computer-aided design for drugs, and generative AI. .

High Density Cluster

The focus will be on enabling high-power distribution, liquid cooling systems and controls designed to ensure simple commissioning and reliable operations for the high-density cluster.

“By combining our expertise in data center solutions with NVIDIA’s leadership in AI technologies, we are helping organizations overcome data center infrastructure limitations and unlock the full potential of AI,” said Pankaj Sharma, Executive Vice President, Division of Secure Energy and Data Center Business at Schneider Electric.

The reference designs will provide a robust framework for implementing NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform within data centers, optimizing performance, scalability and energy efficiency.
“Through our collaboration with Schneider Electric, we are delivering AI data center reference designs using our next-generation accelerated computing technologies,” said Ian Buck, vice president of Hyperscale and HPC at NVIDIA. “This approach provides organizations with the infrastructure needed to harness the potential of AI, driving innovation and digital transformation across industries.”

TO HAVE

In addition to data center reference designs, AVEVA, a subsidiary of Schneider Electric, will connect its digital twin platform to NVIDIA Omniverse, providing a unified environment for simulation and virtual collaboration.

This integration will enable seamless synergy between designers, engineers and other stakeholders, accelerating the design and implementation of complex systems.
“Together, we are creating a fully simulated industrial virtual reality where you can reproduce processes, model results and effect changes in reality,” explains Caspar Herzberg, CEO of AVEVA. “This fusion of AI and real-world results has the potential to transform the way industries can operate more safely, efficiently and sustainably.”
In collaboration with NVIDIA, Schneider Electric plans to explore new use cases and applications across industries and continue its vision of driving positive change and shaping the future of technology. More information will be available at the Schneider Electric Innovation Summit, taking place in Paris, France, on April 3.
