Relatives of a man who is hospitalized in a vegetative state at the Emergency Hospital filed an appeal for protection so that the treating team at that medical center withdraw life support.
The presentation was admitted on Wednesday afternoon by the Justice. Now the parties must present their positions at a hearing to be held next week.
The lawyer Diva Ibargüengoytía said that the objective of this presentation is that “the law of dignified death of the province of Córdoba is complied with and that life support be withdrawn.”
“There is a resolution from the (ethics) committee that the hospital ignored, met with the family but continued to delay the process. The will of the family is clear. They express what JS expressed in life, ”he explained in statements to Miter Cordoba.

“There were two committees. The first committee is the hospital ethics committee, they endorsed the withdrawal of food and hydration. And then a second committee is summoned, which is an autonomous entity, and they recommend following through on the patient’s will, which is the one embodied by the family. The two indicate exactly the same thing, ”said the lawyer.
JS is a patient who has been hospitalized since March 12 in a persistent vegetative state, who does not respond to any type of stimulus.
