Director R. Tuminas will be buried in Antakalnis Menininkai kalnelis

As the Vilnius Little Theater announces, on Tuesday and Wednesday, everyone who wishes will be able to say goodbye to the director in this theater.

On Tuesday at noon, the urn will be escorted from the central building of the Lithuanian Music Theater Academy to the Vilnius Small Theater. Here, from the afternoon until the evening, the doors of the theater will be open to everyone who wants to say goodbye to the director.

Mass will be offered on Tuesday evening at Vilnius St. Francis and St. Bernardino Church.

On Wednesday afternoon, the urn will be taken out of Vilnius’s small theater, escorted to the Lithuanian National Drama Theater for farewell.

R. Tuminas will be laid to rest in the Menininkai kalnel of the Antakalnis cemetery.

Rimas Tuminas, one of the most famous Lithuanian theater directors, died at the age of 73 in Italy, where he had recently staged a play. The director worked in Israel, Italy in recent years, he was suffering from an oncological disease.

R. Tuminas was one of the founders of the Vilnius Small Theater, in 1994 he was awarded the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Art. He has worked in Russia for more than a decade, receiving awards from this country.
