Dirk Nowitzki will have his statue in Dallas… on Christmas Day!

Dirk Nowitzki will soon have his statue in front of the American Airlines Center in Dallas, and it will be unveiled… on Christmas Day in a morning ceremony, two hours before the clash against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The legend Dirk Nowitzki needs no introduction, but let’s go… let’s do it anyway for the youngest, those who haven’t had the chance to see it with their own eyes. The greatest European player in the history of the NBA, or perhaps already more, the German is above all a prophet in his country, finally in his state, namely Texas. Best scorer in the history of the Mavericks, he is obviously the one who brought Dallas its first and still only NBA championship title.. Dirk Nowitzki is also an image, a move, which he has repeated countless times and which represents him perfectly: the one-leg fadeway, unavoidable and unstoppable in its time. What could be better for a statue than this move? We have known since January that it is in this pose that he will be engraved in the metal, it only remained to know when, and it is now official: it will therefore be December 25.

A nice Christmas present for fans of the Mavericks, fans who are however not necessarily delighted… with the entire design of the statue. Obviously happy with the chosen pose, some still regret the “balls” above the player’s head, which they compare to an… adult object, we won’t go into details, where a single ball would have enough. And frankly we understand them a little, but we will only have to say that they are Christmas balls to stick with the date. Still, Dirk Nowitzki will become the thirteenth player to have his statue in front of “his” roomand that he joins legends like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Jerry West or John Stockton, to name a few.

The statue of Dirk Nowitzki in front of the American Airlines Center in Dallas will be unveiled in a large version on Christmas Day before a nice game against the Lakers. Mavs fans can’t wait to open their gift and bring the German into the legend a little more… before giving a handjob to LeBron, that’s a gift.
