An Australian investigative program “60 minutes” looked into the disappearance of the young Belgian student, Théo Hayez, on May 31, 2019. Disappearance still unsolved.

The 18-year-old from Overijse was spending a year abroad when he disappeared. He was last seen leaving a nightclub in the seaside resort of Byron Bay, located on the east coast of Australia.

The program “60 minutes” was broadcast this Sunday in Australia. He looks back on the last known activities of the young Belgian. According to a detective, Théo was kicked out of a nightclub for an unknown reason and he only had two drinks before disappearing.

The mother of the young Belgian testifies in the program and confides that she thinks that Theo was probably not alone when he vanished. “The local police think my son got lost and fell into the sea. I don’t think so”she said.

The Australian investigator, Gary Jubelin, feels the same as Theo’s mother. According to him, the evidence suggests that the young Belgian was accompanied by someone.
