The bus driver gave an apology to the 17th regular investigator today, who was arrested last Saturday for attempted rape of a female passenger.
Immediately after, by the decision of the investigator and the prosecutor, the accused was released with the restrictive condition of having to appear once a month at the Police Station. According to information, the accused denied the accusation during his apology, arguing that he did not try to rape the female passenger who denounced him.
At the same time, OSY issued an announcement about the incident stating that the case is under the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance which conducts a preliminary examination. At the same time, the management of the company has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the driver, asking him to explain.
The announcement of the OSY is as follows: “The case is not under the jurisdiction of the OSY. S.A. but of the Prosecutor’s Office of First Instance which conducts a preliminary examination, for which the Company does not and cannot legally obtain knowledge – as it was informed competently – neither about the content of the complaint, nor about the progress of the case. Therefore, it cannot interfere in any way. However, the Company’s management has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the driver, calling him to explain.”
