On Tuesday August 8, in the evening, the first guinguette was held on the Place du Foirail. Following the success of those of Saint-Chély in July, from 500 to 700 people each evening, many were hoping for the same formula at Malzieu. It was the municipality that set it up and entrusted the bar part to local associations, for this first it was Trail Margeride.
Local producers, pledges of quality and authenticity, offered hot dishes, cheeses and desserts. The participants, the vast majority of holidaymakers, lined up in front of the stands.
Once the shopping was done, they joined the tables set up on the esplanade or the lawn. Except that very quickly, well before 8 p.m., the shortage was announced and many left disillusioned. We saw there the potential and the tourist interest of the town and its sector and the attraction for these convivial events. A second episode is planned, hopefully more culinary offers, more stock and of course even more attendance.
