With great expectation, the Municipality of Rafaela invites the presentation of “Diario de mesas y personas” by Virginia Molinari, which will take place next Thursday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. in room II of the Municipal Museum of Art ” Dr. Urbano Poggi” (Cultural Complex of the Old Market), with free admission.
This is the physical edition of his second book, a self-publishing made up of texts and images that has food as its common thread. It was presented in February at the Festival of Printed Photography in Córdoba and in mid-March at Estudio G, in Rosario.
On this occasion, she will be accompanied by Luisina Valenti, who will read a text of her own about fellow notebooks, hosts of urgent thoughts, and later they will talk about “Diary of tables and people.”
Virginia Mazza writes about her work: “At the root of the word food appears the idea of another: the act of eating as a shared moment. We might think that our first bite is always taken in company. A hand invites us to try something (a priori, or forever, captivating and mysterious) and, in that subtle but significant gesture, it enrolls us in a world”.
“Food can be the engine of a trip, of a friendship, of a job, of a book. A book, like this one, that has the gift of making a home anywhere and celebrates the complicity of a shared time”.
“A book that collects foods that stay on the back of a palate and that vigorously reflects a whole rainbow of recipes and flavors. A book that opens and expands like an after-dinner confession. The glasses, the cups, the deep plates as intimate witnesses displaying their secret choreography”.
“A table can be a four-legged piece of furniture, a tablecloth on the floor, or a tree branch. A table can be the place where a fruitful bond flourishes, the power of a look, friendship as a haven; that refuge where we can always return”.
