Mr. Ward carries his new album with an absolutely stunning new acoustic session

It all starts with a riff that is reminiscent of Radiohead’s most beautiful acoustic ballads… And yet, it is indeed the genius of song-writing M. Ward which is discussed here. The musician, who has just released his new album Migration Stories – a record that is both intimate and powerful, the perfect soundtrack for confinement, which we tell you about here – unveils a stunning new acoustic session.

Composed of five titles, the session was produced in partnership with Disquaire Day (which was postponed to June, as a reminder) and Songkick. Shared by Anti Records, it can be seen and especially listened to below. Throughout these 18 minutes of acoustic music, Mr. Ward sings under delay and leaves a striking organic atmosphere, where only the strings of his guitar resonate alongside his voice. Strangely, these beautiful and strange melodies would almost propel us right into Twin Peaks… Special mention to “Heaven’s Nail and Hammer”, the most charming title of the new opus, reminiscent of “Street of Dreams” by a certain Lindsey Buckingham.

Setlist :

Migration of Souls

Coyote Mary’s Traveling Show

Heaven’s Nail and Hammer

Steven’s Snow Man

Along The Santa Fe Trail

This session takes a look at our acoustic session, carried out with Mr. Ward in Paris, which we let you (re)discover here.

“The song, evoking a fictional place, mixes paradise and paranoia, a constant in Ward’s work. We understand that he takes care of himself with a lot of music. A treatment, a prism through which he assimilates all kinds of information. » Migration Stories, Mr. Ward’s new album, available to listen to.
