It all started in 2011. Camilla de Bourbon-Siciles is accused by her sister Cristiana Crociani of trying to steal the inheritance of their mother Edoarda Crocianithat is 600 million dollars placed in a trust on the island of Jersey. In 1987, to set up this fund, Edoarda Crociani, the mother of Camilla and Cristina, was assisted by the BNP Paribas Jersey Trust Corporation.
If money is at the heart of this family quarrel, the justice of the island of Jersey also accuses wife of Prince Charles of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies having concealed several jewels but also a painting signed by Paul Gauguin. As she was forced to make a detailed report of her mother’s property, the princess would have voluntarily omitted to indicate certain jewels. “She didn’t mention her mother had valuable jewelry in the affidavit”reproached the lawyer William Redgrave, during the hearing at the Royal Court of Jersey, November 14, 2020. The prison box narrowly avoided
Suspected of having manipulated her sister, Camilla had to answer for these accusations of wealth disclosure before the Royal Court of Jersey, a small Channel Island, where the famous trust was located. In Paris Matchin 2017, the eldest explained herself by arguing that the idea of the restructuring emanated from the sole will of BNPand that she herself was disadvantaged by this arrangement. “This restructuring as designed was detrimental to both my sister and myself. I appealed because I too was a victim of this restructuring just like my sister who was the complainant even if, against all expectation, the Court did not take it into account”she said. Her younger sister won the case in September 2017.
Sentenced for contempt of court in December 2020the mother of Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara decided to appeal. In order to preserve its place in the European elite and to avoid the square taken, Camilla de Bourbon had to pay a heavy fine. To avoid spending 12 months in a cell, the wealthy fifty-something agreed to pay the requested 2.3 million euros. But the wife of Prince Charles of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies has not said her last word, and has decided to appeal this sentence before the British Privy Council in London.
