Paedophile Doctor Remains on Church Board despite Guilty Pleas
A former GP, Alan Trevor Campbell, who recently pleaded guilty to possessing child sex images, is still listed as a trustee at Glendermott Church of Ireland in Altnagelvin. the 40-year-old had been under inquiry for three years.
Police raided Campbell’s home in January 2022 after PSNI cybercrime officers seized devices. At the time, Campbell was working at a family practice in north Down.He later moved to Newbuildings, near Derry, and took a position at Dunamanagh Medical Practice in donemana. He worked there untill his arrest in August of the previous year.
The General Medical Council (GMC) suspended Campbell the following month. The GMC website states: “This person has been suspended from the Medical Register and may not practice as a doctor in the UK.”
After Campbell’s guilty pleas, a reporter contacted dunamanagh Medical Practice for comment. A manager confirmed Campbell had worked there but declined to provide further information.
