AAs a new player in the streaming business, Disney + (pronounced Disney Plus) launched a large range of series, films and in-house productions – a range that is to be continuously expanded. Subscribers to the station can look forward to lots of new content in April. Here we give you an overview of what you can expect in April 2020.
Disney + Innovations: Special Theme Month “Earth Month”
In keeping with the “Earth Day” on April 22nd, Disney + declares the whole month to be “Earth Month” – and celebrates nature with documentaries, films and series. So there will be a number of National Geographic documentaries to see – including “America’s National Parks”, “National Park in the Ocean”, “Wild Russia” or “1200 km on foot through the Grand Canyon”. DisneyNature productions are also part of “Earth Month”: “In the realm of the monkeys”, “Chimpanzees” and “Blossoms – messengers of life”.
By the way: Fans of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan should take a look at the documentary “Elefanten” in the original version – this is said by the two former royals. “Elephants” can be seen from April 3.

Disney + originals: series
Disney + is a particularly good choice for Star Wars fans – after all, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “The Mandalorian” are two series productions from the Star Wars universe. Both will continue in April. “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” has episodes 5 to 10 of the final season in April, “The Mandalorian” chapters 4 to 7. Expectations are high – because both productions are extremely well received on the film rating platform IMDb. “The Mandalorian” is rated with an average of 8.7 out of 10 stars, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” with 8.1 out of 10 points.
But not only Star Wars fans get their money’s worth, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” and “Diary of a Future President” also continue. And a very special documentary series also receives new episodes: In “The World According To Jeff Goldblum”, the popular US actor Jeff Goldblum (known among other things from “Independence Day”) explains the world. A lot is happening in April when it comes to new series at Disney +.
New films at Disney +
In terms of film, April also offers some highlights for the newcomers. So from 10.4. The film “Edward with the scissorhands” (IMDb rating: 7.9 out of 10 stars) can be seen – the first collaboration between Johnny Depp and director Tim Burton in 1990.
With “A Toy Story: Everything does not listen to a command” (IMDb rating: 7.8 out of 10 stars) will be available from 11.4. also see the latest part of the toy story saga. Comedy fans should have a lot of fun with “Nachts Im Museum” (IMDb rating: 6.4 out of 10 stars) and “Nachts im Museum – Das mysterious Tomb” (from 10.4., 6.2 out of 10 stars).
Another highlight is the live action film “Christopher Robin” (IMDb rating: 7.3 out of 10 stars) – a fantasy comedy that picks up characters from the children’s book classic “Pu, the Bear”. Starring: Ewan McGregor.
