disruption: E40 motorway closure in Erpe-Mere, East Flanders

2024-01-13 13:12:00

The E40 motorway will be closed to traffic, near Erpe-Mere (East Flanders), in both directions, during the night from Saturday to Sunday, due to work on a bridge, according to the Flemish roads agency and traffic (Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer). Road traffic will be diverted from Saturday 10:00 p.m. to Sunday 10:00 a.m.

The motorway closure concerns the section between the “Erpe-Mere” (18) and Aalst (19) exits. Traffic will follow a detour overnight via Oudenaardsesteenweg (N46), Gentsesteenweg (N9) and Siesegemlaan (R41).

This is normally the last time that the E40 will be completely closed as part of this work, which is scheduled to be completed in summer 2024.
