Linz – The increase in district heating prices in Upper Austria is voluntarily capped at eight percent by the major suppliers. This is just below inflation, said consumer protection councilor Stefan Kaineder (Greens) on Monday after the meeting of the price commission. The plans of the companies had provided for up to 70 percent, the calculation model of the past years even increases of up to 106 percent. After lengthy negotiations, it is now eight percent from August 1st.
