DistroKid App Is A “Pocket Recorder” For Indie Artists

The service DistroKid released an app for iOS that makes it even easier to release songs and albums independently — and you can even do it using just your iPhone! If the internet has already facilitated the process of releasing music for independent and/or emerging artists, the app should make it even easier.

Paying R$120 per year, you can upload an unlimited amount of songs and albums. These, in turn, will be distributed directly to streaming services such as Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer e Tidal. The idea of the service is similar to that of the Anchor app, which has a similar logic, but for podcasts.

It is worth mentioning that there has been a web version of DistroKid for some time, whose resources, according to the company, are also available in the app. They include an artificial intelligence that helps in the mastering of the songs, the Mixea, in addition to faster distribution. Also, you only need to pay the subscription, no other fraction of your earnings from reproductions will be collected.

Even if you don’t do the entire recording and production process with just the iPhone, it’s interesting to have the application as a way to more easily control the metrics of your songs and to be notified when there are gains arising from them. The company also relies on DistroVid, which allows it to distribute videos to streaming services.

Will we see, in the future, artists who were born with DistroKid? ????
