These are images of extreme cruelty which are currently circulating on social networks and which are causing strong indignation in Flanders. We see a young man, a minor, on his knees, surrounded by other teenagers of his age.
The victim is forced to kiss the feet of his oppressors, his head is pushed to the ground, and then he suffers further blows.
Questioned by our colleagues from the newspaper Het Laaste Nieuws, the police gave some details on the investigation that was opened following these events. “The victim is a minor and the suspects seem to be too. We probably expect to quickly identify the suspects.”
The mayor of Zelzate also condemned the events. “We take this matter very seriously. I condemn this type of behavior in every way.”
