Divine Mercy Chapel at Atlanta Airport; Authorities say the chapel will be open for devotees round the clock

Atlanta: The Divine Mercy Chapel, which is open to believers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, was consecrated at the Atlanta airport in the United States. The chapel was dedicated and blessed by Atlanta Archbishop Gregory Hartmayer on Monday.

Through the efforts of the chaplains at the Hartsfield-Jackson airport and the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the chapel opened at Atlanta, the world’s busiest airport.

Also, Blair Walker, the head of chaplaincy at the airport, has worked very generously to make the idea of a permanent Eucharistic presence a reality here, serving as chaplain, Fr. Kevin Peek explains.

The sacrary was established here in November last year after receiving the permission of the archbishop. Until now, only passengers and airport staff were allowed to enter the chapel.

Considering the number of people coming from different parts of the world to go to different places, Fr. Kevin Peek explains.

According to a Business Insider report, 3,00,000 passengers pass through the airport every day. Fr. Kevin pointed out.

He said that the chapel has already touched many lives by creating conditions for encountering Christ in unexpected places.

Since the opening of the Divine Mercy Chapel, he has already seen visitors crying and jumping for joy as they discovered the presence of Christ at the airport. The priest also stated that the chapel allows airline crews and passengers to “bring Christ into their lives and into the world.”

Mass is celebrated in this chapel every Saturday and Sunday at 4.30 pm. Deacons also conduct communion services on Thursdays and Fridays at 11:30 a.m.,

Fr. Kevin’s father, Joseph Peek, was a pilot. He added that his father was a person who maintained devotion to God. The chapel is located in the international terminal.
