A man born in 1966 and originally from Beveren, in East Flanders, died on Sunday, between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., while diving in the Dongelberg quarry, in the entity of Jodoigne.
A forensic doctor declared the accidental death of the fifty-year-old.
Several other fatal diving accidents took place on the site in February 2022, in April 2019 and most recently on April 16, 2023 when a man from Limburg also lost his life. A serious news item which led to the closure of the quarry for several weeks.
