Djokovic: Alcaraz is the best player in the world

The Serbian star, Novak Djokovic, ranked number one in the world, said that the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is the best player in the World Tennis Players Association currently.
Alcaraz, 19, won his fourth title this season by winning the Madrid Open yesterday, “Sunday”, after defeating German star Alexander Zverev, the defending champion, in the final.
Alcaraz beat Djokovic and Rafael Nadal during his career in the Spanish Championship.
Alcaraz climbed to sixth place in the world rankings of tennis players in its edition released on Monday, which is the best position in his career so far.
Alcaraz decided not to participate in the Rome Masters in order to rest and focus more on the French Open “Roland Garros”.
“He is a special player, he is breaking many records as a young player, and he has won two Masters titles this season and two titles in the 500-point tournament,” said Djokovic, who begins his campaign in Rome on Tuesday against Aslan Karatsev.
