Will Returnal soon be playable on the Steam deck? With Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sony has announced or released exclusive PlayStation titles for the PC in a short time. It’s no surprise that more PC ports are in the works, like the one from The Last of Us Part 1 Remake. Yet Returnal we had for PC (Steam) not on screen yet.
Housemarque’s Returnal was released exclusively for the PlayStation 5 last year and received positive reviews. There were also solid sales figures for the roguelike game. Several sources have already pointed to a PC version planned soon, with the update on the SteamDB page we have one more of them.
Returnal soon for the Steam Deck?
There have been several new entries on the game’s SteamDB page over the past few days, but one in particular stands out. The specific update mentions the addition of controller profiles for the Steam Deck, suggesting that the Steam launch title will be optimized for Valve’s PC gaming handheld.
Not really a surprise either: so far, the most important PC releases from Sony, including Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone and God of War, have all been verified for the Steam Deck.
When is the official announcement? Actually, it’s only a matter of time before Returnal is officially announced for the PC.

Returnal is considered mighty heavy. One statistic is important: in 2021 it was on at least played through by the PS5 players – of all games. The developer, Housemarque, by the way, would like to bring more such titles onto the market.
